Review of "Fringe" Season 3 Finale: Or, why did Peter Bishop disappear?

You'd think that when a show barely got renewed, its producers would work extra hard to make the season finale special. Nope. The last episode of "Fringe" plodded along, until the last 2 minutes. That's when they decided to add some interest by eliminating the main character. Yeah. Real good move.

Do you think Peter (Joshua Jackson) will be coming back for Season 4?

Here's some hypothetical reasons he might be gone for good:

1. He can't sport a futuristic haircut without looking lame.

2. He sure can't cry.

3. He's making a sequel to his 2008 film, "One Week," about a guy with a terminal illness. (The producers are calling it, "One More Week.")

4. The only time he was actually charming this season was during an acid trip.

But everybody gets a second chance, right?

1. Both Olivias are in love with him. (And he's a dad in at least one universe. That's gotta count for something.)

2. Where there's Walter, there's always more LSD...

3. He can flip a coin really well.

4. The writers could give him back his wisecracks from season one.

5. He seems like a nice guy. And I'm feeling a little guilty about the haircut comment now...

(Despite everything, I still like Fringe. And Peter. To see why, read this post.)

  2. My best friend laughed at me when I told her that I loved the cliffhanger at the end so much I couldn't be mad about the agonizing summer ahead of me pondering the "What ifs". Her response was, "You are such a writer."
